'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith resumes battle with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he reminisces about the dramatic closing stages of his team's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a spectator's eyewear following the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a speculative shot from distance, and his teammate immediately hammered in the rebound before charging toward the crowd to revel in the moment, with the crowd mobbing the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The victory completed an incredible turnaround given Swansea had trailed 2-0 deep into the final 45 minutes. Amid the euphoria, there was some unintended consequences. Galbraith explained, "There was a fan sort of calling out and we were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The result booked a fourth-round fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the same stage of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had an excellent perspective when the underdogs took the lead in stunning style, with Jamie Donley's long-range effort from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that range," says Galbraith, who played in the middle before switching to right defensive wing after they changed formation. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the winger was among the Manchester squad who complimented the way his former team played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are very good but even the basics and routine actions, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they always find their target and they know how to dictate and slow down a game. You can believe you're doing well and then without warning they will just fizz a pass through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It requires a tough attitude and focus just to keep pace."

Swansea Move

The club were keen on Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has rapidly done the same in south Wales. At the London club he reunited with Richie Wellens, who four years ago gave Galbraith his first extended run in first-team action on loan at a League One side from Old Trafford. Then came a loan at lower division Salford, before he departed Manchester United.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a slightly green going into senior level. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without much intensity. There's not many hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that maturation for both domestically and internationally, excelling for his national side, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has featured in the last several matches, including home and away fixtures against a football powerhouse. His former international manager, Galbraith's former international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This represents a remarkable path for the youngster from the local area in his hometown, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who was raised observing his father, his father, also a engine room operator, play for his father's team.

Old Trafford Memory

His sole appearance for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a Europa League trip to the host city, where they competed on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was sealed owing to the weather of bitter cold. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was freezing," he says, chuckling. "The days leading up, myself and quite a few of the young lads trained together, so that aided our adjustment. Just to travel with the first team and earn some playing time at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

How hard was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "The decision proved quite easy, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it got to the point where I believed I required a fresh start, move to a lower level and play men's football. Now I'm slowly working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called fun bus, a team vehicle driven by club employees, the drivers, which transports players to and from practice and games.

"It's myself the Portuguese player, the Brazilian, an Ivorian player – Melker Widell used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's enjoyable to spend time with the guys but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and driving. The Portuguese player is known for his humor; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

During his time at Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside followers on the Tube after starting his journey at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
